Dhariwal Infrastructure Limited, 2X300 MW is a coal based thermal power plant, located in Chandrapur, Maharashtra is a part of CESC’s new initiative. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of CESC ltd having its registered office at CESC House, Chowringhee Square, Kolkata – 700 001. The 600 MW plant was first such investment in thermal power plant outside the state of West Bengal for CESC ltd. The two units of 300 MW capacity each commissioned and started commercial operation in the year 2014.

The water required is drawn from the Wardha river through a 17.5 Km long cross country pipeline. The station, for sustainable operation, has constructed 4 water reservoirs, having adequate storage, to have a 60 days’ operation cushion during the lean summers.

The station is having power purchase agreement with Indian Railways, Noida Power Corporation Limited and TANGDENCO, Tamil Nadu for a round the clock supply of 210 MW, 170 MW and 100 MW respectively. The remaining untied capacity of 69 MW is sold through the IEX and short term bilateral agreements. The station witnessed PLF of 82% & 80.47% in FY- 2021-22 & FY 22-23 respectively.
