The Adolescence phase marks physical, hormonal, and psychological changes which pose many health issues, particularly in female child. Keeping this in mind, DIL in collaboration with Pahel Multipurpose Society has been carrying out various activities under the Adolescent Girls Programme. One such initiative was the distribution of hygiene kits and health cards to adolescent girls in the adjoining nine villages of DIL Tadali.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Soumen Barua- GM, DIL and Mr. Ashitosh Sapakal- Block Development Officer (BDO), Chandrapur. Other dignitaries like Mr. Dinesh Gakhar- (DGM) DIL, Mr. Brijbhushan Pazere- Ex Samajkalyan Sabhapati, Chandrapur, Mr. Amol Giradakar- Manager, DIL, Dr. Anish Nair- Manager, Mr. Dhiraj Tatewar- Assistant Manager, DIL, Mrs. Arpita Barua, Mrs. Shaili Goel, Mrs. Puja Gakhar, Mrs. Pooja Sinha, Mrs. Mamani Nandi, and Sarpanch also marked their presence during the programme.
A total of 200 hygiene kits and health cards were distributed to adolescent girls in the adjoining nine villages of DIL Tadali.
The objective of the programme is to create awareness and improve the hygiene status of adolescent girls in villages. The hygiene kit has been designed to meet the various hygiene needs of adolescent girls whereas, the health cards will be helpful to monitor their health status.
Sarpanch and villagers expressed their gratitude towards DIL management for such initiatives which have been very beneficial for the adolescent age group
